The Application
The WARP portable is a mobile terahertz-based hand-held system specifically designed for measurement of medium and large-sized extruded pipes. Intuitive device operation is based on a capacitive touch display featuring a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels that shows wall thickness data or pipe cross-section diameter data. The last 100 measured values, including the measuring angle on the pipe and the time stamp, are logged and can be retrieved at any time via the display. The device supports off-load of data by USB or WiFi.
The Solution
A custom configuration of the phyCORE-i.MX 7 System on Module is at the heart of the WARP portable. The power efficient nature and small form factor made it an ideal solution for this portable, handheld device. With assistance from PHYTEC, iNOEX developed its own custom carrier board to fit inside the WARP and implemented its software stack using PHYTEC’s Linux Board Support Package.
