The phyCORE-i.MX6 SOM is the smallest industrial i.MX 6 design available on the market. The compact phyCORE-i.MX6 SOM is highly scalable supporting NXP i.MX 6Solo, Dual, or Quad processor variants and with configuration options for DDR3, eMMC, and SLC NAND. In addition to PHYTECs standard board-to-board connectors, the phyCORE-i.MX6 is also available in a connectorless variant utilizing PHYTEC's Direct Solder Connect technology. Combining cost efficiency and high demand performance the phyCORE-i.MX6 is suited well for deployment in a broad range of solutions.

The NXP i.MX 6 Series includes a highly scalable family of embedded processors based on ARM® Cortex™-A9 technology with single-, dual-, and quad-core offerings delivering up to 1.2 GHz per core. Along with power-efficient processing capabilities, the i.MX 6 provides a leading edge 3D graphics engine, stereoscopic image sensor support for 3D imaging, HD video engine delivering 1080p encode/decode, 3D video playback, and separate 2D engine for UI.

The Interconnect

phyCORE-i.MX6 interfaces are routed to our high-density PCB interconnects on the underside of the SOM. Design a carrier board to mate with the phyCORE-i.MX6. In addition to PHYTECs standard board-to-board connectors, the phyCORE-i.MX6 is also available in a connectorless variant utilizing PHYTEC's Direct Solder Connect technology.

SOM Features

The default configuration of the SOM included in the phyCORE-i.MX6 kit features: NXP i.MX 6 Quad-core processor, 1 GB DDR3, 1 GB eMMC, 4 KB I2C EEPROM, 10/100/1000 Ethernet PHY, and industrial operating temperature rating.
