The phyCORE-AM3517 SOM highlights the Texas Instruments Sitara™ AM3517 and AM3505 processors which, along with efficient processing and low power, feature high-performance video, imaging, and support for intensive graphics. Access to interfaces such as USB 2.0 OTG and Host, flexible memory configurations, as well as display and touch screen controller is made available by the 320 pin SOM interconnect.

The AM3517 Cortex-A8 Processor Family

The Texas Instruments' AM3517 family of microprocessors delivers up to 600 MHz high-performance based on the Sitara™ ARM® Cortex™-A8 microprocessor. Highlights of the AM3517 include PowerVR™ SGX530 Graphics Accelerator Subsystem for 3D graphics acceleration, a display subsystem enabling multiple concurrent image manipulation and a programmable interface which supports a wide variety of displays.

SOM Features

The default configuration of the phyCORE-AM3517 SOM included in the kit features: TI AM3517 600 MHz processor, 256 MB DDR2, 256 MB NAND-Flash, 4 KB EEPROM, Ethernet PHY, USB HS OTG and Host, and RS-232.

  • TiWi R2 WiFi module that plugs right into the Carrier Board
