The phyCARD-XL3-i.MX6 SOM is populated with the NXP i.MX6 providing scalability of computing performance through offered single, dual, and quad core variants. Additionally, due to identical break-out of interface signals per PHYTEC’s innovative X-Arc embedded bus standard, the phyCARD-XL3-i.MX6 is compatible with other phyCARD family members making resources available at a single, 100-pin connector including Ethernet, USB, UART, SPI, I2C, audio, SDIO/MMC, GPIO, JTAG, display (LVDS), and more.

The NXP i.MX6 Series includes a highly scalable family of embedded processors based on ARM® Cortex™-A9 technology with single-, dual-, and quad-core offerings delivering up to 1.2 GHz. Along with power-efficient processing capabilities, the i.MX6 Series of application processors provide a leading edge 3D graphics engine, stereoscopic image sensor support for 3D imaging, HD video engine delivering 1080p encode/decode, 3D video playback, and separate 2D engine for UI.

The phyCARD SOM provides a flexible platform and is designed to plug into the PHYTEC phyBASE Carrier Board that provides a standard set of physical I/O connectors as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCARD module itself.
