phyCORE®-i.MX 8M Mini
Versatile module for a wide range of embedded applications.
Product Overview
Not sure which NXP i.MX 8 series of applications processors to get started with? The phyCORE-i.MX 8M mini SOM is the perfect entry point given the balance between high performance and low power. Although compact in size, the SOM provides a generous 319-pin interconnect for interfaces such as USB 2.0, I2C, SPI, UART, SDIO, MIPI CSI-2 camera, Ethernet, and PCIe. For HMI applications, the SOM features a MIPI-DSI to LVDS converter to support common display models on the market.
Features
Scalable
Designing in the SOM allows for scalability as your application evolves with support for drop-in i.MX 8M mini and i.MX 8M nano processor variants as well as density of onboard RAM and Flash.
Optimized Pins to Size
The SOM has a dense population of components to make the most optimized solution for space constrained applications. PHYTEC’s design is 40% smaller and has 30% more pins available than the competition.
BGA Footprint
The no-connector BGA style reduces profile to 3.7mm and eliminates the need for connectors which allows you to solder down the SOM just like any other component in your Bill of Materials.
Fan-less low power design
Designed with portable applications in mind utilizing LPDDR4, an advanced NXP Power Management IC (PMIC), and even taking care to select low power components such as a low power RTC. The i.MX8M Mini processor offers NXP’s 14LPC FinFET process technology which improves speed and power consumption while operating fan-less.
