The phyCORE-MPC5554 SOM integrates the 32-bit Freescale™ MPC5554 PowerPC® microcontroller on an advanced PCB. A solution for balance between cost-efficiency and complex calculation intensive processing, the phyCORE-MPC5554 features Lattice XP FPGA logic elements. Interfaces including Ethernet, I2C, SPI, FlexCAN, SCI UARTs, and other multi-purpose I/O signals can be accessed with ease by the two 220-pin high-density Molex connectors.

The MPC5554 PowerPC MicrocontrollerThe Freescale™ MPC5554 microcontroller features the high-performance e200z6 CPU, built upon Power Architecture® technology, at its core. Designed to handle complex applications and provide real-time control, the MPC5554 delivers up to 132 MHz and offers advanced on-chip functionality including a large amount of embedded flash, enhanced timer systems, and a rich peripheral set.

The phyCORE SOM is designed to plug into a PHYTEC Carrier Board that provides the I/O connectors as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCORE module itself.
