The phyCORE-i.MX27 provides multiple communication and expansion ports and is designed for plug and play connectivity and true high definition video.

The i.MX27 ARM®-9 Processor Family
The Freescale™ i.MX27 family of processors offers a balance between high-performance and low power consumption by featuring an ARM®-9 at its core. Delivering up to 400 MHz, the i.MX27 supports multiple connectivity interfaces and a rich set of features including high-resolution video processing by a MPEG-4/H.263 and H.264 D1 hardware codec.

The Interconnect
phyCORE-i.MX27 interfaces are routed to our high-density PCB interconnects on the underside of the SOM. Design the mating connectors on your carrier board.

The phyCORE SOM is designed to plug into a PHYTEC Carrier Board that provides the I/O connectors as well as any other interface circuitry not provided on the phyCORE module itself.

SOM Features
The default configuration of the phyCORE-i.MX27 SOM included in the phyCORE-i.MX27 kit features: Freescale i.MX27 400 MHz processor, 128 MB DDR, 256 KB SRAM, 64 MB NAND-Flash, 32 MB NOR-Flash, 4 KB I2C EEPROM, Ethernet, HS USB OTG and Host, and RS-232.
Optional Accessories
- Bare PCB expansion board that plugs into the Carrier Board for rapid prototypting

PHYTEC Board Support Packages (BSPs) are software bundles that implement and support operating systems on our System on Modules. PHYTEC BSPs are application development-ready, offering all essential drivers and board-level feature support. The only task left for you is application integration.
